The Franciscan Crown

(The Rosary of Our Lady’s Seven Joys)

How to pray the Crown: Recite 1 Our Father and 2 Hail Mary’s. Then for each of the Seven Decades, recite the Mystery, 1 Our Father and 10 Hail Mary’s, followed by the Glory be. At the end of the Seventh Decade, two more Hail Mary’s are said.

The Seven Joys:

The Annunciation of the Archangel Gabriel to Mary
The Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary to St. Elizabeth
The Birth of Jesus Christ in the grotto of Bethlehem
The Adoration of the Child Jesus by the Three Holy Magi
The Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple
The Resurrection of Our Lord on Easter Morning
The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven

Prayer for Peace

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy…

For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Holy Father Francis

Stir up within thy Church, O Lord, the spirit which our holy father Francis obeyed, that therewith we too may be filled and may strive to love what he loved and may put into practice what he taught. Amen.
