My Roots & Vocation
In my home parish, I belonged to the **Children of Mary** sodality. This sodality is for young girls who aim to live their lives imitating the beautiful virtues of the Mother of God—preserving their purity of mind, body, and heart. For me, a vocation has always carried an undeniable element of mystery; while many earthly things can influence someone to choose religious life, ultimately, it is a divine calling. I have always been deeply struck by the words of Jesus: *’You did not choose me, but I chose you.’*
A Holy Encounter
My intentional journey began in **2018**. During that year, our church welcomed visiting religious sisters during Holy Mass. As I sat directly behind them, my mind overflowed with wonder: *Who are these ladies? Where do they come from? Why are they dressed like this?* I had so many questions, but no immediate answers.
Then came the moment in the liturgy to offer each other the sign of peace. As I leaned forward to greet them and looked deep into their eyes, an overwhelming feeling washed over me—it felt as though I was looking at Mother Mary herself. Immediately after Mass, I rushed to one of the Sisters to ask my many questions. Rather than giving simple answers, she insisted that I come and visit them. That invitation set my feet on the path.
Let It Be Done To Me
From that definitive moment at the Feast of Saint Francis, I told myself with total clarity that this was what I had been called for. I knew that whether my parents approved of my path or not, I had to follow what my heart desired.
Every day, I compare my life and my offering to the sacred words spoken by Blessed Mother Mary: *’Let your will be done to me according to your word.’* (Luke 1:38). It serves as a permanent, beautiful reminder that I am here completely because of the loving will of the Lord. Yes, it is He who guides my steps.
