My Story

My name is Sr. M. Winnie (Winifred) Puleng Naledi Mosolodi. I was born in Kroonstad and raised in a family of five. My journey of faith began early, as I was baptized and received my sacraments in the Catholic Church, always feeling the quiet tug of a deeper purpose.

Inspiration & Calling

I was deeply inspired by Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Even as a child, I couldn’t bear to see anyone lonely or neglected, often sharing my entire lunchbox with those who had nothing. My search for religious life led me through workshops and different doors, but the moment I stepped into the Franciscan Sisters of Siessen convent, I knew I was home. Everything about them spoke of a mystical realm I had long desired.

“I thank God for my wonderful, faith-filled parents who stood by me, even when my father initially worried about not having grandchildren. They witnessed my first vows in 1999 and my perpetual vows in 2004.”

Religious Professions

1995: Joined as a Candidate
1997: Entered Noviciate
1999: First Professions (April 20)
2004: Perpetual Vows

Studies & Formation

I have always valued learning. After matriculating at St. Bernards H S in Bloemfontein, I pursued several qualifications:

  • Education: Diploma and Higher Diploma in Education (UOFS).
  • Creative Media: Graphic and Multimedia (ATTI).
  • Formation: Spiritual Assistance (Jesuits) and Formation for Formators (Cidara).
  • Theology: Theology online at the University of Hekima, Kenya.

Apostolate Work

My service has taken me through many roles, from teaching Grade R for 15 years at St. Joseph’s Children Centre to serving as a Financial Administrator for the Archdiocese of Bloemfontein. I have also served as a Spiritual Director for the Order of Franciscan Seculars across Lesotho and South Africa.

Currently, I am at our Provincial House in Assisi, working at our Retreat Centre. I am also a Beekeeper, producing herbal and bee products, and I am dedicated to helping our Sisters embrace technology.

“In all things, thank you!”
